Horrocks' Week of Giving

Thanks to the many generous people who work throughout Horrocks’ offices, our employees have organized a number of events to give back within their communities this holiday season. So, we chose to put a little goodness out into the world this week by sharing a “week of giving” on our social media accounts. If you missed it, visit our Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn pages for photos and videos that are sure to put you in a festive mood, or continue reading for a brief recap of some of the ways our offices have been giving back this month.

Food Drives

Our St. George office organized a donation drive for a local youth shelter that provides meals, showers, laundry, case management help, and therapy services to homeless youth. Hoping to raise awareness of homelessness in their community, the St. George office invited both staff and clients to participate in their drive. Our Phoenix office staff also chose to donate to local relief organizations and pooled their Thanksgiving bonuses to purchase turkeys for several Turkey Tuesday drives.

Sub for Santa

Horrocks’ northern Utah offices experienced a bit of holiday magic while employees worked together to select Christmas gifts for local families in need. Through employee donations, we were able to sponsor 58 children in our communities, providing clothing, books, and toys to make their holidays just a little bit brighter.

School Sponsorship

This year, our Albuquerque office adopted a local elementary school and organized several drives and donations on behalf of the students there. From books to school supplies, children and teachers at the school received ongoing support throughout the year. Most recently, the Albuquerque office raised money to donate Christmas stockings with hats, gloves, toothbrushes, books, and other goodies for children who are in need this season.

Toy Drive

Our Las Vegas office decided to contribute to the 98.5 KLUC Toy Drive. Hosted by a local radio station, this toy drive is well known in the state of Nevada and collects an incredible number of gifts each year, which are then distributed to area charities. Knowing that many other organizations donate bicycles, our team collected bicycle helmets to help keep kids safe on those new bikes.

Adopt a Family

Working with the Parker Task Force, our growing Denver office adopted a family for the holidays. This included purchasing and wrapping gifts for each family member (including the pup!).

As we wrap up this week of giving, we hope others may be inspired to give in some way, whether big or small. We wish our clients, our employees, and our communities the very best throughout this holiday season and in the coming year.
