How do you make a bridge?
Designing bridges is a big job. There are many different types of bridges that help us cross over roads, trains, water, or canyons. Traditionally, bridges are built on-site from the ground-up, but with the help of modern-day engineering, we can build bridges faster, safer, and easier than ever before. This faster method builds large sections of the bridge off-site and then moves or slides them into place when they are ready — like a puzzle! This means that vehicles and people can keep moving from place to place while the bridge is being built.
Structural engineers are always finding new ways to make bridges safer and better.
